  • Senior leadership opportunity in WooliesX responsible ensuring the technology architecture and solutions supports and is aligned to the business goals of the Woolworths Customer Data, Loyalty and Direct Technologies team.

  • Lead the program to develop, maintain and govern, well-architected solutions and articulate their benefits, demonstrating a solid understanding of application, data and infrastructure architecture expertise and systems design.


About the Role:


Working between Surry Hills and our Norwest offices and reporting to the General Manager of Customer Data, Loyalty and Direct Technologies, this exciting opportunity will see you lead the overall definition of the architecture competency, promote the engagement model and communicate the overall architecture value proposition.


In addition, this role will see you:

  • Develop solutions and design for projects to meet WooliesX standards for technology and ensure they meet our ambitions for availability, security, resilience and performance

  • Optimise the processes and tools for architecture activities across strategic planning, program delivery and other initiatives and integrating them with other functions as appropriate.

  • Develop sustainable cost effective solutions by keeping in mind the long term vision while delivering short term results

About you:

With exceptional people leadership and influencing skills, you will also havel:

  • Demonstrated background in software engineering, solution architecture and technical delivery; encompassing agile engineering practices, automated testing and continuous delivery and cloud based architectures

  • Experience building high volume and large scale distributed systems is a must

  • Tertiary Qualification in IT / Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent hands on experience)

  • Experience in senior architecture roles in large and complex environments

  • Knowledge / certification on architecture frameworks / methods (e.g. agile)

  • Demonstrable ability to work with and influence business and technology stakeholders (up to C-level executives)

  • Have successfully influenced strategic and/or program outcomes by brokering consensus among stakeholders with conflicting needs and expectations

  • Track record in realising benefits by developing information system & technology strategies / roadmaps and executing to them

  • Strong commercial acumen and customer-centric thinking
